Experienced staff is the centre of success and effort in Upstream.  We have a core group of 10 professionals on staff who manages a compliment of between 40 and 1,100 people - depending upon project demands - with higher staffing levels related to management of labour during 3D seismic programs.  

Paul van Rijswijck, Managing Director

Mr. van Rijswijck has been in Trinidad since 1996 managing multi-faceted and multi-disciplinary teams in the oil and gas sector. This has included:

• Project Consultant for Touchstone Exploration (Trinidad) Ltd on the Ortoire Block.
• Project Manager of seismic acquisition for Rio Claro Block 2D project and Rio Claro Block exploration. 
• Project Manager of seismic acquisition for Central Range Block 2D projects and Guayaguayare 3D.
• Project management of Sorgenia Goudron field analysis and data gathering.
• Technical Manager Mora Oil Ventures, VP Operations TED, Country Manager Cometra.
• Management Consultant to Vermilion Resources,  Vintage Petroleum, BGTT, Talisman, Parex, and Voyager.
• Land and legal consulting and contracting.
• Establishment of operating entities for      several clients.

Devi Gopie-Singh, Project Administrator

Mrs. Gopie-Singh has been in the oil and gas sector since 1996. She has comprehensive experience in Data Management, Information Technology (IT) and Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping. She supports in CECs, residential permitting, statutory permitting for seismic, civil and production projects.

Anthony Ramlackhansingh, Principal Geoscientist

Mr. Ramlackhansingh has been in the oil and gas geological exploration and development field in Trinidad since 1978. He has been involved in technical evaluations of Petrotrin acreage and making recommendations to Petrotrin management for exploration drilling or joint ventures. This experience has allowed Mr. Ramlackhansingh to evaluate the prospectivity of potential Cretaceous to Pleistocene reservoirs in Trinidad and Tobago, with an emphasis on unraveling the basin history, evolution, and maturation story, the results of which have been published in several award-winning technical papers.

Relevant experience and expertise includes:

• Geological evaluations on the Ortorie Block for Touchstone Exploration (Trinidad) Ltd.
• Geological evaluations on the Rio Claro Block and Balata East Block for Lease Operators Limited.
• Generation of prospects and drilling opportunities within Petrotrin acreage, and technical analysis of Joint Venture Bid Rounds.
• Part of Exxon team evaluating prospectivity of Cretaceous and middle Miocene sub-surface traps throughout the southern sub-basin of Trinidad utilizing regional 2D seismic, well data and surface geology.
• Part of team evaluating the structural framework of the northern sub-basin of Trinidad and identifying drilling opportunities using integrated 2D seismic, well data and surface geology.
• Part of a Petrotrin teams for the Technical and Commercial Evaluation of onshore and offshore blocks and farm-in      opportunities in Suriname, Cuba, India, Brazil, and Guatemala.

Fred Peterson, Principal Geophysicist

Mr. Fred Peterson, has been in the oil and gas geological and geophysical exploration and development since 1974. Mr. Peterson has extensive experience in all phases of the subsurface exploration and development of hydrocarbon resources ranging from onshore to offshore development and exploration as a team leader and participant. This has enabled a broad understanding and application of the spectrum of subsurface analysis tools from geophysics through geology to reservoir modeling and simulation. 

Technical specialization in Geophysics and details of seismic data acquisition, processing and interpretation‎ provides the foundation for contribution to the exploration and development decision process. More than 4 decades of petroleum experience, ranging from field operations to exploration management and corporate planning, has provided very diverse experience. The ability to evaluate and apply appropriate technologies and analysis to enable effective decisions is a key strength. Fred has interests in 2 US patents and has authored or co-authored papers in fields of seismic deconvolution, interpretation and pre-stack AVO based inversion.

Nadira Boochoon, Junior Geoscientist

Ms. Boochoon joined the oil and gas industry in 2014 as a Trainee Geophysicist. She has knowledge in Data Management, Kingdom SMT software, Neuralog and ArcGIS mapping. She has been involved in the Geological Exploration and Development of the Rio Claro Block.

· Data Management and mapping using Kingdom SMT, ArcGIS, Neuralog, LAS Tool for the integration of all Geological and Geophysical data for the Ortorie Block. 

· Data Management and mapping using Kingdom SMT, ArcGIS, Neuralog, LAS Tool for the integration of all Geological and Geophysical data for the Rio Claro Block. 

· Part of the Upstream Management Limited Geological and Geophysical Consultant team for the Exploration and development of Ortoire Block for Touchstone Exploration (Trinidad) Ltd.

· Part of the Upstream Management Limited Geological and Geophysical Consultant team for the Exploration and development of the Rio Claro Block and Balata East Field Lease Operators Limited Part of an offshore Seabed Clearance Survey with the Ministry of Energy and Energy Affairs.

Darshanjit Singh Narang, Ecologist

Mr. Narang has been employed in the environmental field both locally and in the wider Caribbean since 2003. He has a varied background in the private, regulatory and NGO sector working on Environmental Impact Assessments, Ecological Surveys, Environmental Monitoring as well as protected area and species research and management. 

• Environmental Specialist - CEC Application authorship and processing on the Ortorie Block for Touchstone Exploration (Trinidad) Ltd
• Wildlife      ecologist at the University of the West Indies - conducted research on      birds and mammals at Aripo Savannas and various protected areas
• President      of the Trinidad and Tobago Field Naturalists’ Club - promoting education      of natural history and conservation
• Head of      Biodiversity Unit at Environmental Management Authority - designated and      managed Environmentally Sensitive Areas and Species (ESAS); developed and      facilitated the implementation of management plans and enforced      restrictions on the use of ESAS,
• Protected      Areas Manager, Turks and Caicos Islands -  Spearheaded the implementation of management      plans for the various protected areas.

Kapil Ramlall, Party Chief / Chief Surveyor 

Mr. Ramlall has been in the surveying field since 2007. He has experience in engineering, topographic, cadastral, seismic surveying, Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and Drone Mapping Surveys. Survey supervisor for Guayaguayare 3D and Central Range Block 2D.

Claudius Ramdeen, Operations Manager

Mr. Ramdeen has been in the oil and gas operations in Trinidad since 1976, including positions as procurement and logistics supervisor, workover superintendent, well servicing tool pusher, and management of workover operations.

Nigel Fabien, HSSE Manager

Mr. Nigel Fabien has been in the Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) field since 1990. He has been involved in the development of HSE Management Systems for various companies and lectured in various aspects of Safety and the provision of independent HSSE auditing services including STOW implementation programs.
